Thankyou Google for inventing the restore button, as my internet explorer window just crashed. That is probably because I have around 50 tabs open at the moment. I thought I’d start the blogging on a high with plenty of posts. So here we go!
Sarah Mick is a freelance graphic designer from Wisconsin who has recently graduated from college. Her work has been featured on ffffound, designworklife, ohsobeautifulpaper and fromupnorth. Her newest project which caught my eye was her senior project in which she worked with Christopher Paul. They decided to create the branding for a new high-speed railway called ‘The Redline’. What caught my eye especially were the two large advertising posters which they had designed.
I think they are so strong because of the bold 50’s inspired theme which doesn’t look corny or cheap but very luxurious. The designs typefaces and clean finish give that modern edge. Also keeping the logo simple and not as overly 50’s themed keep the overall design of the company modern.
Also loved the translation of the design into an apple app, which shows how well the design works with modern design against it.
Some images of her other work that caught my eye.
